Social Football

Social Enterprise 5-a-side: Social Football for the Social Economy

Description:

Fancy a kickabout with some of Sheffield's social enterprise community?

As part of the Festival of Social Enterprise 2026, we're hosting a relaxed, informal 5-a-side football session — no experience required, just bring yourself, a positive attitude, and ideally some trainers.

Whether you're a seasoned player or haven't kicked a ball since school, this is a great chance to connect with fellow social entrepreneurs in a completely different setting. All abilities welcome.

What to expect:

- Casual 5-a-side on an indoor court at Goodwin Sports Centre

- Friendly, mixed-ability teams picked on the day

- No pressure, no leagues — just good sport and good company

- A chance to meet others working across the social economy in Sheffield and beyond

Who's it for? Anyone working in, with, or around social enterprise — whether you're a founder, freelancer, funder, or just curious about the sector.

What to bring: Suitable footwear (no studs, trainers fine), comfortable sportswear. Teams will be arranged on the day.

Free to attend — just register your place so we know numbers.

Organised by Sheffield Social Enterprise Network (SSEN). Questions? Contact hello@ssen.org.uk
