Mother's Day planting event, Moorwood Farm, Sheffield
Would you like to learn how to plant a tree and help create a new community woodland in Stannington, Sheffield?
We're inviting familes and individuals to get involved in our tree planting event at Moorwood Farm this Mother's Day.
Where?
Moorwood Farm, Riggs High Road, Sheffield, S6 6GR
When?
Sunday 15th March, from 10.30am to 1pm (drop-in anytime)
Why?
This new community woodland will have more than 2,800 native tree and shrub species, as well as wildflower and a horse gallop. The owners of Moorwood Farm have been working with The Woodland Trust to develop areas of land to improve biodiversity on the farm. We're also inviting local schools and businesses to take part in planting events at the site (see our Ticket Tailor page to find out more details).
What you'll need:
Please wear suitable clothing for staying warm, and for possible wet weather. We strongly advise sturdy, waterproof shoes such as walking boots or wellies. All planting equipment will be provided including gloves and spades.
Refreshments provided will be hot and cold drinks, and biscuits. Please bring a reusable cup if you can.
